Develop a visually captivating title sequence by creating a central narrative for a fictional movie, storyboarding, mood boards, motion test, and a final title sequence that represents the story and mood you are portraying.
Movie Synopsis: Set in a war-torn Europe, two rival kingdoms—Valeria and Eldoria—seek peace through an arranged marriage between Princess Emilia Castillion of Valeria and Prince Arch Everheart of Eldoria. Unbeknownst to Eldoria, Emilia is a spy sent to uncover their weaknesses. As she gains Arch’s trust, she begins to question her mission and her loyalty. Caught between love and duty, Emilia faces a difficult choice—fulfill her duty and doom the man she loves, or risk everything for a future that may never come.
Themes include star-crossed lovers, opposing sides, and betrayal. The goal is to create a whimsical, romantic, medieval mood to the keep it light, yet also mysterious. I found inspiration from medieval TV shows, text, maps, and other imagery to create this mood.
Utilizes a hand-drawn, sketched style with an old paper texture and moves like a scroll to manuscript to look like a worn, medieval map. I used contrasting color of the lights and object pairs to symbolize the divide between the two warring kingdoms and the main character’s struggle to pick between her duty and following her heart.
